When I found out that Ben's Dad got a nice video of the whole concert (on a tripod) I was thrilled! All I had to do was add titles and a few transitions in iMovie and voila...beautiful recital video.
Now, how to share a 47 minute video? Lucky for us YouTube can do it now! You have to request permission to upload a video longer than 15 minutes, but that wasn't difficult. So the recital video is now live and if you wish to see it, hop on over to the Studio Projects page or head directly to YouTube.
The other plus of having a fine quality video to work with is that you can snaggle stills from the video. I just use a little app called Grab and it let's me take screen shots at any point through the video. I formatted the images to 4x6 and I'll print them for my students. This little collage is made from the video screen shot stills. Neat trick eh?

Bravo!!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Anne and to her students. We appreciate all the hard work that goes into presenting such a wonderful concert.
So much fun! "Us"
Thanks! It's pretty amazing to share the concert in this way! So much better than DVDs...argh. Glad you liked it :)
DeleteThat was fabulous!
ReplyDeleteApplause to you and your students! That looked like so much fun for them!
Just wondering what book was the Goatherd (Sound of Music) from?
Oh yeah, totally love the piece at the end too! I listened to other youtubes of this and found one quite fascinating with 12 people playing, quite hilarious actually! http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&feature=endscreen&v=L-JdDyqNLPM
Drema
Hi Drema, thanks for visiting! The Lonely Goatherd was from "Piano Duet Play-Along Volume 10" published by Hal Leonard. We have enjoyed that book of duets this year.
DeleteOh yes, we have watched the 12 pianists playing Gallop March :) My teens wanted to learned this quartet so badly! I'm sure it will be one of their most memorable piano moments.
